Epiphone Elitist

The Epiphone Elitist is a line of guitars and bass guitars that feature top specifications that cannot generally be found on other guitars that may be imported.

It includes authentic solidbody Les Paul body shapes, Custom, Standard, Standard Plus, and SG Standard. It also features the classic EB-3 bass and the modern Thunderbird bass; you can find three semi-hollowbody archtops, the 1963 Dot, the Epiphone Sheraton which is also a classic, the Riviera and the Casino.

You can also find about four acoustic models including the 1965 Texan and the Epiphone dot as well. In the past years, Epiphone has added the Elitist Byrdland and the Epiphone Texan models, hollow body guitars with solid spruce tops featuring glowing designs of flames. The Byrdland’s scale is 23 3/4, slightly shorter, and is designed for ease of play, whereas the Broadway has classic full depth body which promotes a louder volume.

By the own testimonal of Epiphone’s president, the Elitist series was designed specifically with those players in mind who wanted the high quality instruments without paying the high-end prices.

These epiphone guitars feature book matched woods, nickel hardware and Grover machine heads among other things, making it a well rounded instrument.

Epiphone Ebony

This one is a large box jazz guitar with top notch appointments. You will find a solid-spruce carved top on A grade flamed maple back and sides. Its ebony fretboard and inlaid bridge will make it a blend of convenience and eye candy. The sound is smooth, full bodied, and appealing to the trained ear. You will find on it the warm tone and expert built of the L5 Gibson at a fraction of the price.

This guitar will perform very well for jazz as its tone is mellow and fat. The acoustic sound isn’t close to the carved tops and it is not at all bass heavy like genuine hollowbody lookalikes. The L-5 is however more responsive to right hand dynamics, but a few adjustments such as playing with the polepieces and a little intonation adjustment will do wonders for it.

Epiphone Flying V

This is a similar version to the popular original Casino promoted by John Lennon. You can play jazz with ease, blues with emotions and rock easily. You will want to select your amp wisely to truly capture the entire range that this guitar can offer you. This Elitist Series guitar, compared to the original, is simply made better, as Epiphone gave in to the small details to make this a true masterpiece.

This one is much lighter than the original one, and you will notice a significant tone improvement, when you connect it to your amp. Be mindful and pervail yourself of a guarantee so you can exchange the guitar within a reasonable amount of time, giving you the time to truly test it out and get a feel for it. It’s one of those items you really want to “get a feel for”. You can find these for about $1 500.
